Although is a relatively new city, having been incorporated in 1960, Pembroke Pines is one of the most active cities in the area. Adjacent are the cities of Miramar, Cooper City, Davie and SW Ranches. Its name was given due to the pine trees growing near Pembroke Road. 

This location surrounded by nature is perfect for those who seek adventures and outdoor activities like swimming, camping, fishing, go for a picnic, skating, surfing, canoeing, airboat rides, paddle boarding, or even take a helicopter tour. 

Pembroke Pines also has parks, wetlands, and reserves where you can get in touch with the wildlife. As it borders the everglades nature lovers can also get glimpses of alligators, deer, marsh rabbits, alligators, insects and birds. Pembroke Pines does not lack of suburban areas with shopping malls, restaurants and cultural venues.
